There are so many changes coming up for our family. We have been blessed by living the last four years in Alaska. We have made so many good friends and had some of the best experiences of our life here. It is the first place in a very long time that has felt like "home". We have been a part of a wonderful home school program that has offered more support than I could have imagined. We have been part of the most precious church family. Yes, it will be very hard to leave. Yet I know that God has a perfect plan for my family. Our life with the Air Force has given us so many wonderful opportunities we otherwise would not have had. I am thankful for each and every one. I know that our next assignment will be filled with more wonderful experiences and adventures and I am excited at the prospect.
I do wonder how the children will handle the vast contrasts. We will be moving from the icebox into the frying pan. Going from 9 months of winter to maybe just 2 mild ones. -30 to 100 above. From moose and bears to snakes and bugs. Oh, and did I mention that we will be moving ourselves and driving 4,229 miles with three kids, a dog and a trailer? I'm sure it will be entertaining. Watch out Alabama...here we come.

Hi! Saw your post on WTM about your blog and came for a peek - looks awesome! The ducks are adorable! :-)
That's quite a change for your move, wow ...I'm a former airforce brat myself and remember cross country moves as a child, but nothing as drastic as Alaska to Alabama!
Good luck with the move! :-)
I love your header...cute ducks! You are off to a great start! Welcome to blogging...enjoy!
Yay! for you!
Welcome to the world of blogging. I can't wait to hear more of your adventures in moving.
Cute duckies.

What a drastic change. I've done close to that a few time. It can be daunting, but look at it as a learning experience all the way around. Good luck.
Oh, the blog looks great!
You are in for quite the traveling experience! I can't wait to read about it. Alaska to Alabama is going to be a shocker, lol.
Your blog looks great. I especially like your description at the top about the village. I had a good laugh at it.

I am SO tickled that you started a blog! I cannot WAIT to read more (hint, hint!). Steph
Great blog!
My husband just got back from a business trip to Alabama. He loved it and said it was so hot. You definitely have a weather change and lots of changes in store.
WOW!!! What a change for you guys. I'll be thinking about you during your change and after. Good luck to you!
Hello! I found your blog through you link to the Palin Welcome Home Rally on the WTM. I clicked over to see...I love all things Alaska! We were stationed at Elmendorf AFB for 3 years, 2 1/5 years ago. We moved from Alaska to Mississippi so I completely understand the climate changes you will be dealing with. We will be moving from Mississippi to Fairbanks in Feb...we can't wait! I much prefer the icebox to the frying pan!
